This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Facilities and Sustainability in carrying out the training and

supervision of custodial staff. This individual will direct the School District's program of daily and project

cleaning and building services administration of all district buildings.

Qualified applicants will have:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.

Valid Washington State driver’s license.

Skills in supervision, team building, leadership and flexibility.

Working knowledge of sustainable custodial procedures.

Knowledge of and experience developing custodial budgets.

Conveys a positive image, promotes creative solutions in problem solving and maintains effective

public relations with courtesy, respect, and good judgment.

Ability to: maintain confidentiality; organize priorities; manage time effectively; motivate staff;

supervise, coach and train others; evaluate performance; develop and monitor budgets.

Experience in school custodial department or related field.

Knowledge of institutional custodial functions in a large, multiple-site organization; equipment

and supplies used in the care of institutional buildings and fixtures.

Knowledge of safety standards, rules and regulations relating to custodial operations in school

facilities.

Knowledge of all pertinent federal, state, and local rules, regulations, laws, policies, and

procedures.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, and procedure manuals.

Proficiency in use of PCs, Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, and the use of technology in the

workplace.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Maintain accurate records.

24-hour on-call availability to respond to emergencies.

Must be able to work evening shifts as needed to supervise custodial staff.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form.

Ability to process information to make sound judgments and decisions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of staff and

stakeholders.
