JOB SUMMARY:

The Equipment Cleaner Tech keeps three spreader machines clean using various hand tools and steam pressure hose.

THIS IS AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION - ON-THE-JOB training will be provided!

RATE OF PAY: $23.00/hour

SCHEDULE: Swing Shift - 2 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday-Friday; overtime, including Saturdays, may be required.

ESSSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Use chipping and scraping tools and steam pressure hose to remove glue adhesive and other debris from spreader machines to achieve a thorough cleaning of all equipment parts.

Follow all safety protocol, including Lock Out Tag Out and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Immediately notify supervisor of any safety and maintenance/repair concerns.

Dispose of waste and recycling materials as directed.

Report low inventory/supply of cleaning materials and damaged/broken tools to supervisor.

Help with other cleaning duties, as assigned.

Work cooperatively within and across departments.

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years of age.

Entry level with on-the-job training. Prior manufacturing (production, machine operation, etc.) is strongly preferred.

Ability to read and understand cleaning and safety guidelines and follow all work procedures in a safe manner.

Ability to understand basic mechanics of spreader machine, glue lines, and valves to effectively and safely clean equipment, including use of Lock Out Tag Out.

Ability to identify safety concerns on equipment and machinery and to appropriately escalate issues to management; ability to use and promote the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to take supervisory direction and work cooperatively with co-workers.

Ability to work independently and productively to meet deadlines.

Ability to maintain an organized and clean work area.

Ability to be flexible in accepting overtime, when required, including on Saturdays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is regularly exposed to work near loud machinery and fumes or airborne particles; PPE must be worn, including a respirator. The employee is required to work in cold to hot temperatures, varying by season, and the environment can be damp or dusty. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud. The floor surface may be uneven or wet.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee will be walking, standing, and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to the large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties may involve a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, and working in enclosed areas. The employee will be constantly gripping and using fine finger manipulation to use hand tools and trigger button on steam wands.
