Job Overview:
Help With Handywork, a growing handyman and property care service in Bellingham, is looking for a part-time Handyman or Handywoman to join our team. I’m the owner/operator and, so far, have been doing most of the work on my own and using temporary labor when necessary. However, I have a lot renovation work coming up and I’m looking for someone who can work between 20-35 hours/week. This position has the potential to grow into full time and the rate is negotiable based on your skill and experience.
For candidates with less experience, but enthusiasm to learn, rates range from $18-$22hr. For those candidates with more experience and who can work on your own with minimal supervision, I’ll consider rates in the $30/hr. range.
If you’re interested in working for a small company to grow with as we ramp up, this may be the job for you. And if you’re more experienced, but not looking for long-term employment, we encourage you to apply, as well. Responsibilities:
Assist with property maintenance and repairs
Perform basic tasks like prepping and masking for interior paint, cleaning and hauling materials, assist with LPV flooring installation, furniture assembly
Support skilled labor in various projects, including drywall, painting, door and window installation, etc.
Take on lead in skilled labor projects, if appropriate
Help with jobsite cleanup and organization
Other tasks as needed
Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle physically demanding work
Willingness to learn new skills on the job
Basic knowledge of hand tools and various use applications (preferred)
Reliable transportation
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Hours & Pay:
Part-time, flexible (approx. 20-30 hours per week)
Pay starts at $18-$22 per hour for entry level, depending on experience
Pay range to $30/hr. for well qualified applicants
