Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and supervising production operations, including maintaining and operating production equipment and facilities. Supports Senior Production Manager in all aspects of production and supervising year-round and seasonal production employees. Primary goals are efficient productivity, quality control, controlling costs and keeping equipment and facilities maintained and in good running condition. This individual will be successful by setting high standards for quality and safety, while working proactively in accordance with Enfield Farms policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities: (not limited to)

Works with operation supervisor, production supervisor, and operators to ensure proper machine operation, uptime, and maintenance. Identify and resolve any production issues.

Manages set-up and oversee operation of production equipment including packing lines, processing lines, codes, and printers.

Maintain knowledge of refrigeration systems and operate it when necessary.

Ensures machines and facilities are running efficiently, ready to meet production goals, ensuring products are produced on time and within budget.

Helps with ensuring traceability for all products.

Keep up to date with equipment technology and perform R&D.

Ensures employees complete required positional training and maintains training records for repack and harvest facilities.

Attends classes and training as necessary.

Assist with maintaining all ammonia system records and ensures proper training and certification of the Ammonia team, implement and update Ammonia Emergency Response Plan.

Maintain a safe and productive work environment. Provide leadership in the overall safety programs for the company by implementing and maintaining training programs.

Enforces all Food Safety regulations, occupational safety regulations, company rules, policies, and procedures & provides disciplinary action when necessary.

Monitors production floor to ensure GMP’s are followed and enforced.

Ensures compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), safety, health, environmental, and other regulations.

Follows and enforces all GMP's/GAP's.

Ensure that campus and all production facilities are clean, organized, and audit ready.

Assist senior production manager with all improvements and projects.

Leads the team in the utilization of Redzone in all production facilities.

Immediately investigate all types of accidents, such as on-the-job injuries or property damage, and report to HR or the appropriate executive.

Ensure operational and maintenance crew are scheduled to ensure adequate coverage, assist with scheduling and establishing staffing requirements.

Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.

Help establish pack goals and provide input for production runs, communicating goals with leads, operators, and employees.

Assists in operating IQF, bulk, and retail production.

Oversees coordination of receiving fruit during harvest from incoming trucks.

Supervisory Responsibilities: (not limited to)

Addresses production employee complaints and takes appropriate action.

Assists and provides input for the hiring and firing of production employees.

Participates in employee orientation, training, and development.

Complete operation performance review after harvest.

Participates in weekly processing planning and pack management meetings.

Work with Senior Production Manager, Senior Sales Manager, and Supply Chain Manager on new packaging projects.

Work with Senior Production Manager and CFO on creating and maintaining production operations budget.

Work closely with other departments to ensure that production needs are met.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Analyzes and researches new processing equipment.

Participates and provides input for capital purchases.

Hold maintenance team accountable for all parts and equipment entered into CMMS.

Minimum Qualifications

3 years’ relevant work experience

Degree in related field preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Office Software and Outlook

Ability to speak Spanish or effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking workers.

Excellent communication skills

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves working very closely with heavy machinery, forklifts, and trucks. Machinery and tool operation require the use of safety equipment which includes but is not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, etc. Occasionally required to work in wet or humid conditions or extreme cold (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles or toxic or caustic chemicals, at risk of electric shock or radiation. Works in moderate noise environments.

Physical Demands

Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds or more. Frequently required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employe occasionally required to taste or smell.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

Year-round Full Time Employment.

Monday – Friday 40 hours or more per week, weekend availability during harvest.
