Whatcom Community College invites applications for a Program Manager A (Class Code 107R) position in the College's Communications and Marketing office. The Program Manager A will support critical communication services for the College. This position will work closely with the Communications and Marketing staff and other campus department as assigned to ensure seamless integration of Whatcom's marketing efforts. This includes working collaboratively with all College departments and programs and coordinating strategies that are aligned with the College's strategic plan. This position reports to and works in close partnership with the Director for Communications and Marketing.
Responsibilities:
-Website administration. Including content management (write, post, and verify changes), manage/track/assign CMS user permissions, troubleshoot and support site's consistency and relevancy. Set up and track Google Analytics for web pages as requested.
-Coordinate and provide appropriate technical training on website for content managers; apply the College's website standards and educate others about those standards.
-Manage/track website project change requests and make web changes as needed across the site. Oversee and track web content manager list and create web change status reports.
-Create content and monitor the College's social media platforms (existing and new) to ensure meaningful interactions and engagement. Monitor platform questions and messages with coordination from Director of Communications and -Marketing. Respond in real-time to questions and requests with intent to increase followers and boost engagement. Experience with Google Analytics reporting (including creating reports on segmented initiative outcomes). Experience in Search Engine optimization content writing for website.
-Experience in creating online marketing campaigns across multiple social media platforms.
-Experience sourcing, interpreting and reporting on social media campaign analytics.
-Monitor developments in online marketing and social media fields; make recommendations for changes/improvements to remain competitive relevant.
-Participate in the development and recommendation of web policy changes or additions.
-Implement communications and marketing projects or initiative for college departments as assigned by the Director for Communications and Marketing.
-Act as Whatcom Community College's "Storyteller", find and develop stories of the people, places, and programs at WCC for social media, editorial and more.
-Assist Graphic Designers in sourcing graphic design elements for new projects. Take photos/videos at events as needed. Process, file, name and archive photos as needed.
-Coordinate and manage photo and video shoots with external vendors.
-Project Management: Manage project request process, create weekly status reports, and interface with campus clients to gather elements for new projects. Track project process, budgets, final approval, and production. Experience in planning and managing high-volume project lists in a fast-paced environment. Proven high-level attention to detail. Experience in creating project outcome reports and tracking analytics. Experience using project management platforms.
-Implement communications and marketing projects for college departments as assigned by the Director for Communications and Marketing.
-Assist in the development and implementation of advertising, public relations and promotional campaigns and strategies as needed.
-Assist with writing and editing College publications, web content, ad copy and press releases as assigned. Proof copy for all marketing assets as needed. Proven editing experience necessary. Track and report College media placements, manage and update media distribution lists, and distribute College press releases.
-Manage campus digital signage systems and communications efforts, maintaining consistency and branding.
-Source, request, and track vendor bids under direction of Director of Communication and Marketing. Develop and maintain a strong and productive relationship with campus departments, community partners and vendors.
-Manage the communications and marketing budget effectively under the direction of the Director of Communication and Marketing. Communicate with Business Department to ensure all invoices are processed and paid.
-Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
-2 years of full-time work experience in communications, marketing, copy writing, editing, public relations or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Excellent marketing, communications, writing skill and people skills.
-Experience with content management systems.
-Experience with project management platforms (Smartsheets) or others.
-Experience in managing high volume projects.
-Working experience knowledge of web and social media technologies.
-Basic photography and videography skills. graphic design.
-Computer literacy and experience with MS Office Suite software.
Salary:
-Range 48, full-time Classified salary starting at Step C, $4,410.00 per month with periodic increments to $5,501.00 per month.
-This position is not eligible for remote work.
Benefit Package:
-The position comes with a full benefit package, including health, dental, life, long-term disability insurance and a retirement plan.
-Accrues 8 hours per month of sick leave and 9.33 hours per month vacation leave with periodic vacation accrual increases based on longevity.
