We are looking for an energetic person to join us in making handwoven rugs for the Interior Design Market.
Responsibilities for the Junior Weaver include weaving beautiful textiles by hand, loom set up, troubleshooting, finishing rugs and packing them for shipping. Our projects are custom made to order, making each unique and fresh.
We currently have a collaborative group who are dedicated to craftsmanship and making clients happy. We’re looking for a person with a strong work ethic who enjoys working both solo and with a team in a small, fast-paced studio. You must be flexible as we all wear many hats in the studio including general cleaning and organization of the space.
Weaving is meditative work that requires hustle, frequently on tight deadlines. Although the weaving is very physical, weavers are also responsible for light paperwork or computer tasks.
This is a high skilled, manual labor job.
Qualifications:
Attention to detail, focus and comfortable with math calculations.
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment where you are on your feet for long periods of time, on the floor, lifting 40 lbs etc, walking.
Knowledge of weaving, knitting and/or other textile construction preferred but not necessary.
Manufacturing experience: 1 year (Preferred, Not Required)
Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
