As a chaplain at Christian Health Care Center, you will play an essential role in caring for residents’ spiritual and emotional well-being. This ministry-based position offers the opportunity to walk alongside residents, families and staff through times of joy, transition and loss. You’ll lead services, coordinate pastoral visits and help ensure that each person in our care experiences peace, dignity and compassionate support.
Responsibilities:
Support CHCC’s mission of providing skilled health care with compassion and love in Christ’s name
Provide spiritual care to residents, families and staff
Lead regular worship services, Bible studies, holiday and memorial gatherings
Visit with residents upon admission and continue visitation as needed or requested
Respond promptly, offer prayer and pastoral counseling upon request
Coordinate clergy and volunteers from the wider faith community
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary care team
Assist in organizing company-sponsored events and activities
Perform special projects as assigned by the executive director or administrator

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in theology or equivalent from an accredited school of theology; ordination, clinical training in chaplaincy or current endorsement for chaplaincy ministry by a recognized religious group
Able to provide compassionate care to individuals of various faith traditions
Minimum two years of experience in professional ministry
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word; able to learn new software and troubleshoot issues
Valid Washington state driver’s license
Skills:
Strong personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ, consistent with CHCC’s mission
Able to minister with humility and empathy
Excellent listening and communication skills
Compassionate presence with individuals facing illness, grief or loss
Ability to connect with people from diverse faith traditions and backgrounds
Calm and steady demeanor during emotionally intense situations
Collaborative spirit and respect for all team members
Dependable, trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality
Organized and able to balance multiple pastoral responsibilities
Hours: 20 hours per week. Typically, 3 days per week; hours will be discussed and agreed upon at hire.
Wages: $23.00 to $30.95 per hour, depending on experience and credentials
