Full-Time Development Manager (40 hours per week)
The Whatcom Museum is currently accepting applications for Full-Time Development Manager of the Whatcom Museum Foundation.
Reporting to the Whatcom Museum Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Executive Director, the Development Manager’s primary focus is administrating and managing all aspects of the Museum's development program, Annual fund drive, grants, and special fundraising events.
The Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director to develop and tract prospects and donors, donor communications and events. Works with the Marketing and Public Relations Manager to ensure that the Museum's external communications support the Museum's development efforts. Works with and provides guidance to Membership and Visitor Experience Manager regarding Membership fulfillment and communications. Works independently under department, city, state, and federal rules, regulations, and guidelines. Provides indirect supervision to volunteers and interns.
Qualified applicants should have exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-directing and to work with minimal supervision. Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the fields of either Business, Marketing or Communications. A minimum of two years of experience managing data bases, membership programs, event handling, fund raising, or a combination thereof are preferred – but a combination of experience and training that provides the applicant with the knowledge and skills to perform the job will be considered.
