The role is for a Global Staff Accountant for a Bellingham-based global cybersecurity not-for-profit. This includes adherence to GAAP and IFRS, with a strong concentration in Accounts Receivable, but also Accounts Payable and the monthly close cycle for the North American and three foreign entities. This is a full-time position and reports to the Controller.
Key responsibilities include:
● Responsible for the full cycle of Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, posting receipts, follow up and collections for the North American entity and 3 foreign entities. Invoicing includes subscription-based membership and various other product offerings.
● Addressing support tickets generated both internally and outside of the origination.
● Updating the AR aging reports (Google Sheets-based) for all entities and tracking the status of all outstanding invoices.
● Communicating promptly with the Sales Department on collectability issues with members.
● Working with customers to complete vendor onboarding requests and surveys on a timely basis.
● Managing full AP lifecycle.
● Expense report coding including various journal entries for staff expenses, intercompany account reconciling between entities, posting daily entries for various receipts/expenses.
● Reconciling prepaids and posting the monthly journal entries.
● Accounting for the different entities requires a basic understanding of currency
translation with Euros, Pounds Sterling, and Singapore dollars.
● Attend in-person and virtual meetings.
● Other tasks as deemed necessary.
Qualifications:
● Accounting or equivalent degree preferred, but relevant work experience could be substituted.
● Strong technical accounting skills: Must be proficient in GL accounting and have a strong understanding of accrual-based accounting practices; 2+ years of progressively Accounts Receivable experience required.
● Systems experience: Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel Experience required. Experience preferred in other applications/software used, including Sage Intacct, Slack, Salesforce, Zendesk, Google G-Suite/Drive and Microsoft Office.
● Communication and interpersonal skills: Must have a strong command of business English. Must be able to offer a warm but business-like presence through the spoken word. This role involves frequent interaction with all levels of management.
● Adaptability and problem-solving skills: CSA is a fast-paced environment, and you will gain exposure to global accounting and banking practices. Your ability to learn and quickly adapt to a growing and evolving environment will be critical to your success.
