Position: Training and Facilitation Program Manager
Starting Wage Range: $24-$27 hourly
Employment Status: .5 FTE to 1 FTE, non-exempt, hourly benefited

About the WDRC: The Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving the people of Whatcom County since 1992. Our vision is for Whatcom County to be a community in which people approach conflict in creative and healthy ways.

Position Summary: The Training and Facilitation Program Manager is responsible for WDRC’s delivery and development of exemplary training and facilitation services throughout Whatcom County. The Manager will deliver - and provide leadership and support to staff, volunteers, and contractors to deliver - meaningful, high quality conflict prevention and intervention services, including training, facilitation, and coaching. The position includes a combination of direct service responsibilities alongside program and curriculum development, community outreach, case management and administrative duties.
An ideal candidate will have substantive knowledge of conflict resolution and transformative processes; be an experienced trainer, facilitator and coach; bring a thoughtful approach to working with staff, contractors, and clients; be skilled in program, partnership, and curriculum development; and demonstrate a clear commitment to equity, accessibility, and trauma-informed practices. Responsibilities:
Program Management and Development
● Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Executive Director to set annual and long-term program goals to sustain and grow our training and facilitation services
● Manage adult training, facilitation and coaching services in alignment with WDRC goals and standards.
● Ensure quality provision of training sessions; review and assess current training offerings for efficacy and relevancy; design and develop new training curricula in partnership with fellow staff and other stakeholders
● Integrate best practices for participant engagement and learning with an accessibility and equity lens
● Nurture consistency, quality, skill building, and cohesion among service providers
● Create, maintain and strengthen program partnerships with community stakeholders
● Collaborate with staff to identify and respond to emerging needs and opportunities, and market customized services to specific audiences and sectors
● Manage risk, and promote safety and wellbeing of staff, contractors, volunteers, and clients
Direct Service Delivery
● Manage inquiries, contracts and service delivery for custom training, facilitation, coaching requests
● Design and deliver training, facilitation, and coaching services directly and/or In coordination with staff, contractors, and volunteers; ensure all logistical needs are met, including promotion, client coordination, site preparation, technology, and evaluation
Administrative Duties and Organizational Responsibilities:
● Adhere to organizational standards and complete grant, contract, fiscal, and reporting requirements.
● Maintain program records including attendance and evaluation data
● Supervise 1-2 staff plus volunteers and engage with contractors when needed to deliver services
● Work collaboratively w/other staff to participate in shared responsibilities, and advance WDRC mission
● Assist in organizational planning and improvement as part of the management team; contribute to internal and statewide committees
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
● Demonstrated experience managing, coordinating, and/or sustaining programs and staff
● 5+ years of experience designing and delivering conflict resolution or related trainings; custom group facilitative processes; and/or leadership development/coaching sessions (with capacity to do so in-person, hybrid, or virtually, with occasional evening and weekend obligations)
● Ability to create, promote, and deliver services that maximize accessibility and learning for a diverse range of audiences; cultural sensitivity and equity training, and experience integrating principles into practice
● Demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively with a wide range of individuals and entities; effectively give and receive feedback; navigate conflict constructively; adapt to change with flexibility; and manage time and priorities productively. Capacity to effectively represent the WDRC and services in public settings
● Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing; proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Suite applications, standard office technology, and presentation equipment
● Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience in conflict resolution and/or related educational programs; Professional Mediation Training (or ability to take training w/in first year of hire)
Preferred Experience & Training
● Experience and/or understanding of restorative and trauma-informed practices and dialogue processes
● Advanced training in group facilitation
● Bilingual in Spanish
● Master’s degree in related field
