ROLE SUMMARYPfizer ORU (Oncology Research Unit) is seeking a highly capable, enthusiastic and motivated Scientist to join the Protein Solutions team. The Protein Solutions team is an integral part of Protein and Bioanalytical Sciences (PBS) group within ORU ADC Discovery. This multidisciplinary team is at the forefront of producing recombinant proteins and antibodies for the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and this scientist will play a critical role in supporting the preclinical efforts in developing novel ADC therapeutics.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strong focus on integration and optimization of reagent (DNA & Protein) registration and inventory systems
Development of tools and applications to facilitate requests and support queue efficiencies
Collaboration with scientists to generate protein reagents to support research projects
DNA sequence design, vector construction, & nanopore sequencing
Production of recombinant proteins (including antigens, antibodies, bi-specifics, fusion proteins and small format binders) via mammalian expression and affinity purification
Analytical and functional characterization of purified products
Independent design and optimization of experiments
Data analysis, report generation and presentation of results; including technical reports, patent documentation and tracking of reagents and requests
Mentor/teach standard practices for protein production and characterization to lab colleagues
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
M.S. plus 4 or B.S. plus 6 years' experience; both with 2 of those years in the biopharmaceutical industry; or related discipline
Demonstrated experience with using, building and optimizing registration and request workflows
Proficient in recombinant protein expression via mammalian cells and protein purification using liquid chromatography techniques
Expertise in molecular biology techniques; including design, PCR, mutagenesis, subcloning, and sequence analysis
Experience in evaluating protein product quality; including, analytical chromatography and mass spectrometry
Ability to perform routine tasks independently and commitment to high quality analysis and documentation
Team player with a strong record in collaboration and excellent written/oral communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
Flexibility and prioritization skills to meet personal and group goals
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Design and implementation of novel fusion, small-format and bispecific methods and technologies
Knowledge of antibody sequence structure, germlines, isotype, alleles and common variants to modify Fc function.
Understanding of cancer biology and experience with oncology drug development
Familiarity with developability and biophysical characterization assays
Experience with high throughput and automated lab equipment and assays

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,900.00 to $124,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
