Summary Works under the general supervisor of the Production Supervisor. Provides training & assistance to other food service personnel & within the production area. Performs tasks with several steps of tasks such as: sets up food service counters, steam tables, dining room tables, hot & cold food service stands. Serves food cafeteria style to diners. Set up glasses, silverware, condiments, salads, desserts, bread & cold beverages on serving counter as instructed. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Perform tasks with several steps or sequence of tasks such as: sets up food service counters, steam tables, dining room tables and side service stands with hot and cold food, including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages. Serves food cafeteria-style to diners. Serves tables; family-style by placing dishes of food on tables and refilling as necessary. Makes coffee in large urns according to the number of servings desired, with responsibility for timing and brewing. Makes a variety of fruit and vegetable salads such as fresh fruit, tossed green tomato, lettuce and lettuce wedges etc. Serves food in standard portions by placing uniform amounts in small dishes, glass or disposable food containers in prescribe quantities. Makes a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. Packs box lunches for caters. Maintains water and detergent levels in dishwasher; removes strainer pans, inspect doors, etc., for proper cleaning of dishwasher, inside and out; removes calcium deposits as required; and restores room to orderliness Unloads food from delivery trucks and move heavy garbage cans. May operate cash register. Knowledge of basic industry standard cleaning and sanitation principals. Work requires continual standing and walking. Utilize basic kitchen tools to complete tasks. In addition to performing normal food service worker duties, you assist the Production Supervisor in the daily training, guidance and supervision of three or more Production Staff which includes Food Service Workers, Dishwashers and Vehicle Drivers. Relays instructions received from the Supervisor and ensures the work is carried out in compliance with instructions given and food service sanitation practices and procedures. Demonstrates proper methods and may inspect work in progress and upon completion to ensure a quality product is served. Reports the status of work in progress and any causes for delays to the supervisor. Makes recommendations to the Supervisor in regards to approval/disapproval of leave; awards, hiring or corrective disciplinary actions as needed; may contribute to the evaluation performance. May act for the Production Supervisor in his/her absence. Responsible for the proper storage, refrigeration and labeling of food in accordance with sanitation regulations at all times. Responsible for ensuring the Production area, equipment and food preparation areas are cleaned and maintained in accordance with sanitation regulations at all times. Ensures trash is removed continually as needed. Responsible for the operational performance of the food and beverage activity, including cash accounting (cater payments), inventory accountability, stocking and patron satisfaction Assists the Production Supervisor with data entry to include daily food distribution, transfers and resale into inventory system Exercises tact, good manners and courtesy when dealing and working with others. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Works under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor. Once trained, incumbent carries out assignments with little supervision. Provides training and assistance to other food service personnel within the production area. Work is reviewed in terms of adherence to instructions, procedures and overall efficiency. Knowledge of all aspects of the food and beverage service operation. Must be able to render decision, administer work schedules and ring out registers. Must be skilled in public relations with customer and employees. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and be able to communicate effectively with others. Must be able to lead and train. Must present a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times. Education H.S. Diploma or equivalent. Additional Information Successful completion of National Agency Check (NACI) background check with written inquiries is required. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. Must be able to use simple kitchen equipment and use common utensils. Must be able to operate a cash register. Must be able to follow food recipes and combine ingredients for pizza, salads, and other menu items. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays to support business needs and schedule will vary. Work involves light to moderate physical effort such as frequently lifting or moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds, constantly standing and walking, and occasionally lifting up to 45 pounds.
