BR&T is seeking a Mid-Level Chemical Materials and Processes Engineer to join our team in Everett, Washington to support various transparency suppliers within the Boeing Supply Base to implement material and process stability to support high quality parts for our airline customers.

The person in this role will be supporting all Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) programs managing materials and process design and production for airplane systems components. This is a Multi-Model Support team supporting Systems and Transparencies for all models.

This role will require deep knowledge of unique organic and inorganic coatings, specifically metals deposition of thin films for systems and functionality performance.

The person in this role will frequently find themselves presenting highly complex level of information to very high levels of Boeing technical leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products related to BCA airplanes and Systems components
  • Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
  • Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
  • Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Integrates new technologies as appropriate
  • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
  • Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes
  • Implements corrective and preventive actions
  • Designs, develops and qualifies production systems to satisfy user requirements
  • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements


This position allows for some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location option.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience working with organic and inorganic processing
  • Experience with metals disposition (sputter, vapor, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials or Chemical Engineering
  • Extensive Lab experience utilization of SEM, STEM, EDX, etc.


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
