DescriptionReporting to the Ministry Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO), the Director, Philanthropy manages all aspects of major gift fundraising, including corporate/foundation giving and planned/estate giving for Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. The Director, works with the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) and medical center leadership in the development of campaigns and fundraising initiatives and engages clinical partners, caregivers, board members and volunteers to help identify and classify prospective donors and ensure the implementation of timely cultivation and solicitation strategies. The Director, is responsible for managing major gift staff as well as maintaining the major gift prospect pipeline, plan, fundraising progress reports, goals, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities in support of major gift and campaign fundraising goals and priorities. This position is also responsible of a portfolio of high-net-worth donors capable of making six and seven-figure gift to the Foundation. This position also oversees the Friends of Providence donor society and clinician engagement efforts, education, and committees to encourage grateful patient referrals. The director collaborates with the CPO to ensure all major giving, planned giving, annual giving, events, donor communication, recognition, pipeline management and overall foundation operations are aligned, efficient, and effective.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for raising donations at the major and principal gift level for capital and operating needs of the Medical Center
Works with administrative and medical leadership to identify and prioritize needs and maximize philanthropic opportunities.
Works with the CPO to develop and execute a systematic, strategic plan to diversify, strengthen and increase the funding base and develop new sources of funding, for both capital campaign and other major gift initiatives.
Works with staff, leadership, and volunteers to create and manage campaign/major gift initiatives prospect portfolios and to develop cultivation and solicitation strategies.
Works with CPO and consultants as needed to strategize, plan and execute major gift initiatives or campaigns.
Collaborates closely with Foundation leadership to evangelize campaign priorities, goals, strategies, and giving opportunities to foundation team, internal stakeholders, clinical leaders, and donors to ensure campaign success.
Engages clinicians, administration and volunteers in donor solicitations activities and advise on briefings and strategies for those involved with principal and major gift donors and prospects.
Directs the development of proposals, case statements, and other fundraising materials used for campaigns and initiatives.
Coordinates all necessary campaign meetings, volunteer communication, prospect tracking and moves management.
Develops ongoing relationships with key prospects and donors and maintains a personal portfolio of major and planned gift donors and prospects through identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Manages all major gift fundraising staff providing creative, strategic leadership to help achieve short and long-term goals.
Provides regular reports regarding fundraising goals and initiatives and progress to the CPO and Board.
Utilizes Donor Database and dashboard reporting to track and measure donor data, moves management and performance.
Understands the various planned giving methods.
Manages a budget for major giving, planned giving, campaigns, and grants.
Collaborates with Annual Giving and Donor Engagement colleagues in moves management and stewardship efforts.
Ensures major gift stewardship, donor recognition, and grant reporting is planned and executed in a timely fashion.
Maintains donor confidentiality and full knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Willingly accepts other work and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Communications, Business, Nonprofit or related degree
7 years of progressively increasing fundraising experience including successful major gift, grant, or planned giving experience securing six- and seven-figure gifts and more than $1 million in support annually.
5 years of supervisory or applicable leadership experience.
2 years of fundraising experience in a major, decentralized institution, preferably health care, nonprofit or higher education (preferred)
2 years of campaign management (preferred)
Knowledge of Fundraising and non-profit organizations.
Understanding of Major Gift, Planned Gifts, Annual Giving, Direct Mail, Special Events Fundraising
