Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Production Asset Stress and Structural Engineers to support the tooling for the 777 minor models of Boeing aircraft. As a Tool Stress Engineer, you will support a variety of tooling that is required to build the 777 minor models including the new 777-8F. Stress Analysis will be applied to tooling l consisting of both new and modified existing tooling; several new engineers are needed to support these changes which need to meet our same high levels of safety, usability, and reliability. One type of tooling application at Boeing includes small tools that require a high level of ingenuity and engineering knowledge to be utilized in high precision, limited space applications. Conversely, other tooling applications involve highly complex multi-purpose and multi-cell automation. Both, highly diverse, types of tooling are equally as important to the future of Boeing as are the engineers who design them. We need engineers capable of completing stress analysis to ensure this wide variety of tooling is safe for repeated use.Our Teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior Production Asset Stress and Structural Engineers.Primary Responsibilities:This is an equipment and tooling development, implementation, and improvement role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

Performs complex analysis (e.g., stress, static and dynamic loading, thermal factors, vibration, etc.) of tools and equipment design.

Compiles preliminary and final stress analysis for basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and safety.

Participates and consults in design reviews, reviews design requirements, aids tooling design to support the build plan.

Confirms requirements for compliance with safety, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

Aids in the communication of design changes and requirements for purposes of structural integrity and safety.

Researches designs of similar tooling to aid the design process. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analyzing data to identify solutions.

Writes specifications and process documentation and develops stress templates and guidebooks for use by general tooling community.

Areas of expertise should include some or all of the following: structural analysis (FEM and classic hand analysis methods), welding, building codes, below the hook, mechanical (including pneumatic and hydraulic), and composites/advanced materials.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA.Work Authorization Statement:The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

1 or more years of experience working in an engineering stress analysis discipline

1 or more years of experience with production systems in a manufacturing or engineering capacity

1 or more years of experience using software to review or build 3D solids (CATIA, AutoCAD, ProE, etc.)

1 or more years of experience of classical hand analysis and FEA software experience

Preferred qualifications:

5 or more years experience working in a Tooling Stress Engineering role

5 or more years experience working in a production environment

3 or more years of CATIA or equivalent solid modeling experience.

3 or more years experience FEA software (Altair Hyperworks or Dassault Systems Abaqus)

3 or more years experience working to industry standards including compliance with hardware and safety codes

Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems

5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Mid-Level)

9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Senior Level)

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate Level: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior Level: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Associate (level 2): $81,600- $110,400

Mid-Level (level 3): $96,050- $129,950

Senior (level 4): $118,150- $159,850
