Work involves inventorying, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and maintaining operating room equipment. Assisting in maintaining a clean, sanitary, orderly OR environment, and transporting patients as required.An incumbent is required to understand and apply Standard Precaution guidelines and other safety/security standards to all work activities.Essential DutiesAssists with the flow of surgical instrumentation between processing and surgery; reads OR schedule, anticipates needs and sets-up OR with required supplies and equipment, for respective case(s).Assists in maintaining a clean, sanitary and orderly OR environment.Assists with patients, to include transporting and assisting with lifting, turning, positioning and preparing patients for surgical procedures.Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when transporting patients and when working in the OR.QualificationsJob Requirements:One year of related work experience in an acute care hospital that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.Post-high school training specific to healthcare (i.e., central processing, health care assistant) preferred.Work experience in perioperative or as a military medic/corpsman is preferred.Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.Pay Range$20.92 - $29.49 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
