Title: Hardware Designer (Aerospace)

Location: Kent, WA (Onsite)

Duration: 6+ months (High likelihood of extensions)

Our client is currently seeking a Avionics hardware designer to develop analog and digital boards that interact with avionics systems. You will be responsible for the requirements definition, design, prototyping, and verification.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop analog and digital boards that interact with avionics systems (including sensors and electromechanical/electrohydraulic actuators); including analysis, schematic capture, layout, design review, test/verification and release.
  • Support avionics architecture trades studies, analyses, performance characterization and specification, device selection, and controller roadmap direction.
  • Support embedded controller risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of direct experience in electronics hardware development
  • Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit analysis, simulation, design, test, debug, signal integrity, power, grounding and general board layout principles.
  • Exposure to analog and digital filters, signal conditioning and signal processing using discrete components.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing high-reliability, safety-critical, Class 2/3 board assemblies; including familiarity with IPC 6xx and NASA-STD-8739.n (or similar) standards.
  • Proficiency using Altium/Cadence OrCAD / Allegro (or similar tools)
  • Proficiency with scripting; programming and analysis/modeling tools: Python, Linux/Windows shell scripting; assembly language, C, C; MATLAB / Simulink / SPICE (or similar).
  • Exposure to designing safety or mission critical aerospace flight hardware compliant with DO-254.
  • Experience working with power electronics
  • Experience with schematic capture
  • Experience with circuit analysis
