BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide service to bank customers by conducting appropriate transactions and meeting the needs of customers by referring them to appropriate departments in the bank.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assist customers with everyday transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments accurately and efficiently, while complying with all policies, procedures, regulatory and banking requirements
Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements
Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential losses to the bank
Accurately follow all cash handling procedures and balance cash drawer daily
Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded
Answer a variety of basic customer inquiries and maintain a working knowledge of bank products and services
Identify and promote Yakima Federal products and services beneficial to the customers’ needs
Stay current of compliance regulatory issues, through ongoing training, as they pertain to duties
Demonstrate support of corporate values, mission and vision. Perform job duties within these standards
Display mutual respect, trust and dignity, acting in the best interest of the Association. Display solid ethics and integrity at all times.
BASIC QUALIFICIATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
One to three years of customer service experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively communicate courteously and professionally
Basic knowledge of applicable bank policies, procedures and support systems
Knowledge of common deposit products and service
Strong mathematical, problem-solving and computer skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under pressure
High degree of accuracy
Organizational skills
Ability to work as a team member
Experience in the financial services industry preferred

Salary range for a Branch Banking Associate is $39,540 - $41,600. “Other Compensation” includes a Semi-Annual Incentive Program payout and employer funded Defined Pension Plan in addition to an employee’s base salary.
