Location:

Richland, WA (In-Office, with travel to sites in Benton and Franklin Counties)

Salary Range:

$25.76 – $36.56 per hour (DOQ/DOE)

About Us:

Senior Life Resources is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals through compassionate in-home care and services. Our key programs, Home Care Services and Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels, provide essential support to seniors, ensuring they can maintain independence and dignity in their homes.

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Program Manager to assess client eligibility for home-delivered meal services, maintain accurate records, and coordinate service delivery in compliance with federal, state, and agency guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruit, retain, and support volunteers for dining center and delivery programs.

Ensure volunteer compliance with training, certification, and documentation requirements (e.g., background checks, HIPAA, food handler permits).

Maintain accurate volunteer records and schedules using systems like VolunteerHub or CareAdvantage.

Collaborate with site staff to manage volunteer assignments, coverage, and scheduling.

Provide leadership, ongoing communication, and supervision to volunteers.

Represent Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels in a professional and compassionate manner in all settings.

Attend staff meetings, assist with events, and support cross-functional projects.

Participate in occasional evening/weekend activities for outreach or volunteer recognition.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensing:

Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid Washington State driver’s license with insured transportation.

Ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handler’s Card within 14 days of employment.

Experience & Skills:

Leadership experience in volunteer coordination or team supervision preferred.

Experience in food service, nonprofit work, or senior services a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; CRM system experience preferred (VolunteerHub, CareAdvantage).

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Creative, flexible, and professional with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

Frequent driving to dining centers and volunteer sites.

Regular physical activity including sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs routinely, occasionally up to 40 lbs).

Use of computers, phones, and office equipment.

Requires confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for diverse populations.

Flexibility in scheduling for evening or weekend events as needed.

Contingency of Employment:

Acceptable background check and driving record.

Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Compliance with Chapter 246-215 WAC, Subpart B, “Employee Health”.
