Our family-owned physical therapy practice is seeking an experienced and independent Medical Receptionist to join our team. This individual will play a key role in coordinating patient care and provider schedules while also supporting medical billing processes. We're looking for someone who is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and dedicated to providing outstanding customer service.
As the primary receptionist in our clinic, you’ll need to be confident in your medical administrative skills and comfortable managing a variety of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage multi-line phone system; assist callers or route them appropriately
Contact new patients to schedule appointments upon receipt of referrals
Schedule new and recurring appointments using our EMR system
Greet and check in patients, verify insurance or payment info, and provide necessary forms
Maintain and track payments, assist with bookkeeping tasks
Prepare billing documentation for providers
Fax required documentation to insurance companies as needed
Coordinate with administrative team regarding appointment counts and clinic productivity
Organize and maintain physical patient charts and documentation
Check and record patient insurance benefits; explain benefits clearly to patients
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of experience in medical administration, reception, or billing
Proficiency with EMR systems
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Experience with verifying and interpreting medical benefits
