Job Description:
The Operations Technician will play a vital role in the day-to-day engineering operations within a Data Center. This position involves managing risk, conducting corrective and preventative maintenance on critical infrastructure, overseeing vendor relationships, and reporting on operational metrics. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of service delivery while supporting the operational integrity of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management: Oversee on-site management of subcontractors and vendors.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all work performed adheres to established practices and procedures, maintaining the quality and reliability of critical systems.
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the operation of the Data Center and implement strategies for mitigation.
Maintenance Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of both corrective and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree (Military/Trade School) or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience in a technical or operational role.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
Leadership Abilities: Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Technical Knowledge: Fundamental knowledge of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering principles, with a basic understanding of network design, layout, and low voltage cabling (copper/fiber).
Logistics:
Training Period: 9 AM to 5 PM PST for the first month for training.
Shift Rotation: After completing training, the contractor will transition to a rotational shift schedule of:
o 4 days on, 3 days off & 3 days on, 4 days off
Night Shift Requirement: Occasional night shifts are non-negotiable.
