Volt | Project Controls Analyst | REMOTEJob Summary:The client is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to join its team. They are a premier National Science Foundation project at the leading edge of observational cosmology. The Project has exciting and challenging opportunities for bright, energetic, and motivated engineers, scientists, technicians and support staff.Location: RemoteSchedule: Part Time 20 hours a week (Monday-Friday)Job Duties:As a Project Controls Analyst the individual will be providing project controls support to the A+ Project Management Team. This individual will work closely with the project management team to maintain the project schedule, resource allocation management, critical path management, and earned value calculations.Principal Tasks:
Support Project Management Team with project performance management through the use of EVMS tools
Coordinate with project leads to status schedule, review critical path and report percent complete
Prepares and maintains project reporting documents
Researches, assembles, and evaluates project information or data and recommends sound, practical solutions to project related issues
Analyzes, compiles, and presents project specific data from a variety of sources to meet on-demand needs
Set-up and maintain any special project change control logs
Basic Qualifications
2 years minimum experience required in Project Controls
MS Project expertise required. Ability to maintain and status schedules as needed, and provide advisory technical support to MS Project users.
Working knowledge of project management best practices and principles
Thorough knowledge of project controls practices or principles, including WBS development, duration management, schedule logic and dependencies, critical path analysis, change control, EVMS, status reporting, and what-if analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including excel proficiency
The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, a high level of initiative, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment and maintain a professional demeanor
Must have an aptitude and enthusiasm to learn new skills, and to assist and train others
Must have proactive approach to work quality and completion
Must be able to work remotely and transition into office location, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or related field
Experience in an academic or laboratory setting
Experience in Project Online (PWA) environment
Experience with Power BI application, linked to PWA database
