Continuous Improvement Manager

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing STCU’s Continuous Improvement strategy and program. This position will partner with business leaders and management to identify and scope improvement opportunities, as well as mentor and train process owners to ensure that continuous improvement efforts are aligned to strategic objectives and achieve expected results. This position also leads projects of complex scope that will support business improvement and impact organization-wide strategic objectives in all areas of the enterprise from the branch to the back office.This position will work in office at the STCU Headquarters located in Liberty Lake, Washington.Core Job Requirements/OutcomesConsult and mentor business unit peers, managers and leaders to simplify processes that attain critical financial, productivity, quality, member satisfaction, and employee engagement goals by utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies/tools and following all changes through the PDCA cycle to ensure that improvements are working as designed.Assist business unit leaders with building/achieving predicable benchmark performance metrics around operational capacity, lead time, quality, cost, morale, etc. that assist in increasing productivity by coaching management to establish expected standards and implement operational improvements.Develop and deliver Continuous Improvement training to all levels of the organization and ensure understanding of key concepts including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Leader Standard Work, Kata, TWI, & 5S etc. by facilitating formal and informal training and coaching sessions.Other Essential FunctionsStimulate critical thinking and help others accurately analyze complex situations, articulate business goals, and find creative, compliant solutions to solve business problems through the use of data and application of continuous improvement tools.Utilize multiple stakeholder perspectives and approaches to find optimal solutions across all areas of the Value Stream. Work with leaders and teams to establish standard process and then overlay technology where appropriate to eliminate manual work.Read, analyze/interpret data, understand and communicate complex and diverse information, and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and teams.Lead and/or facilitate Kaizen and Continuous Improvement events across multiple departments.Possess strong business and financial acumen with the ability think and execute strategically and maintain positive relationships with front line, managers and directors (verbal and written).

Collaborate cross-functionally with senior-level stakeholders in IT, HR, Finance, Legal, Sales, Marketing, etc., to validate and refine identified opportunities. Provide industry and supplier research, market intelligence, and financial analyses to Itron stakeholders; helping to identify target suppliers and guide project outcomes. Develop an effective framework to govern the strategy, project pipeline, and measure performance for the entire enterprise and across divisions. Provide category and market expertise to create a strategic portfolio of initiatives to achieve savings targets; includes documenting and tracking all savings generated. Perform spend analysis to identify strategic suppliers and target savings opportunities to pursue sourcing activity. Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications (collaboration with legal in some instances). Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor\'s degree in a related discipline (Business Management, MIS, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Finance, or similar). Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing/category management. Experience in managing sourcing projects in the following areas: IT Services: including managed services, IT consulting, and support services. R&D Services: including research partnerships, innovation projects, and development services. Telecom: including mobility, wireline, unified systems (Webex, Zoom, ect.) IoT, LAN/WAN technology, and software-defined networking. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Process Management skills. Robust RFP management and supplier negotiation skills.
