Financial Analyst II

The Financial Analyst II position performs in-depth financial analyses to assist with business decisions, completes financial reporting internally to the Board of Directors and Leadership Team as well as external regulatory entities, budgets general ledgers in alignment with the strategic plan, and supports all areas of the finance department.Core Job Requirements/OutcomesPrepare financial reports in a timely and accurate manner by meeting all deadlines and ensuring initial reporting is accurate and complies with governmental rules and regulations, if applicable.Assists leadership in decision making by conducting in-depth financial analyses to identify meaningful insights, suggest recommendations, and communicate findings through presentations and/or reports. Utilize SQL, data warehouse, and data analysis and visualization tools to extract, compile, analyze, and present data in an effective way.Prepare operating income and expense budgets for bi-annual forecast process, partnering with internal departments on upcoming projects and budget requirements. Accurately forecast future activity in GLs and communicate with all areas of finance and accounting regarding budget partner activities and variances to plan. Suggest and implement efficiencies to processes for continuous improvement.Other Essential FunctionsAccurately budget balance sheet and/or income statement general ledger accounts by analyzing trends and working with credit union leaders to align budget with strategic initiatives.Support departmental or credit union wide initiatives and projects by contributing as an effective project team member and complete all tasks and assignments in a timely manner.Provide support for functions within the department including cross-training on other analyst job duties and covering when needed.Ensure proper accounting by keeping current with GAAP and making recommendations for changes in policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
