Senior Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, general ledgers, financial statements, fixed assets, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Month-end and year-end closing procedures; including journal entry creation, journal entry review and account reconciliations for multiple locations. Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Complete a Control Tower report for corporate review and analysis, and report to finance regarding the finances of establishment. Develop, implement, modify, and document record-keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology. May supervise and guide lower-level accountants. Ability to work independent and be collaborative in nature, to include mentoring others within the department. Promote improvement with the department and throughout the organization. Review procedures and assist with creation of procedures manual. Perform other duties as assigned.Skills: Accounting F inancial statement General ledger M onth end Journal entry Reconciliation F ixed assets accounting Accounts payable Accounts receivableRequired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting with five+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Experience Level:Intermediate LevelEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
