Requisition Summary

PACCAR, global manufacturer of heavy-duty transportation equipment, including Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks, seeks a Fleet Operations Technical Specialist at their Technical Center in Mount Vernon, Washington. The successful candidate will organize, coordinate, and conduct development, verification and validation test articles preparation and test activities for PACCAR Global Powertrain. This position will contribute to root cause analysis, documentation, and support activities in failure analysis to achieve solutions. They will be on-call to support to issues during off-shift hours, as well as working off-site requiring up to 30% travel

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Prepares trucks for testing activities by coordinating truck commissioning, part upfits and software updates

Analyzes test requests, discusses test requirements with requestors and formulates preliminary test plans, budgets, and schedules

Present observations of product performance and/or reliability to engineers and leadership personnel as required

Undertake activities to develop existing and improved test methodologies as needed

Initiate and participate in corrective action projects for truck components as needed

Participates in root cause analysis, documentation and presentations for failures experienced during the testing

Accurately tracks and documents hardware and software changes, and maintains dynamic status records of test articles

Capability to troubleshoot electrical, hardware and software issues using PACCAR development tools, schematics, and good technical knowledge

Participates in data collection and analysis

Fosters good communications, establishes, and maintains cooperative and productive work relations with all other departments and managers

Qualifications

Ability to work well in a team environment

Excellent technical and communications skills

Ability to manage personal workload and willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands

Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred

Working knowledge of PACCAR products is desired

Mechanical aptitude and experience preferred

Experience with PACCAR engine and aftertreatment development tools preferred

Troubleshooting skills required

Education

Associate/technical degree, or 3-5 years of relevant work experience
