Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Requisition Summary

The General Accounting Manager is responsible for working closely with the capital budget team, including a General Accountant, to support capital requests, tracking of assets-under-construction and asset implementation. This role is also responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable Supervisor and supporting the Assistant Controller with forecast and budget preparation, among other accounting and administrative duties.

Location : Mt. Vernon, WA (PTC)

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Support capital budget process across PTC

Review fixed asset packets and prepare depreciation forecasts

Work closely with managers to maintain monthly department forecasts

Analyze monthly department spending and prepare variance analysis

Oversee and support the Accounts Payable Supervisor

Maintain SAP authority matrix and review Concur authority matrix

Support travel expense accounting and Concur-user training

Review month-end journal entries and reconciliations

Prepare complex balance sheet reconciliations

Quarterly/annual RFI preparation

Staff development and mentorship

Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls

Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work as part of a team

Attention to detail with a 'big picture" focus and drive for continuous improvement

Ability to work independently, handling multiple priorities to meet deadlines

Strong Microsoft Office skills including advanced MS Excel (charts, pivot tables, Power Query, etc.) andPowerPoint

SAP experience desired

Concur experience desired

Education & Training

BS/BA Accounting Degree

Minimum four years of work experience

CPA or MBA preferred

Maintain open and clear communication among all stakeholders including PACCAR divisions, key suppliers, and development partners. Responsible for resolving, communicating, and prioritizing program issues in a timely manner. Create, track, and communicate program schedules, deliverables, and budgets. Prioritize, coordinate, and track the program vehicle fleet in relationship to testing activities. Coordinate activities between multiple PACCAR divisions. Develop new processes, standards and tools related to program management activities. Mentor and train others in the use of new processes, standards, and tools. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures related to project and program management. Develop reporting and metrics. Qualifications 7 to 10 years in Leadership, Program Management and/or Operations Management. Able to communicate effectively across functional boundaries, as well as up and down the leadership chain. Should have a strong background in project management. Able to establish a strong network across various organizations and disciplines. Education BS degree in related field required. Program Management Professional certification preferred.
