Description We are seeking a VP/Director of Finance to join our team in the South-King County area of, Washington state. This role involves managing a small team, working closely with the city council and the public, and representing the city's financial interests. The successful candidate will be comfortable with public speaking and have a strong foundation in customer service.Responsibilities: Manage a team of three, providing guidance and support as needed Engage in regular communication with the city council and public, answering questions about financials, budgets, and fiscal matters Oversee the financial health of the city, including budgeting, forecasting, and balance sheet reviews Represent the city and council in financial matters, acting as a 'department head' Ensure accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable Conduct annual financial reporting and federal government reporting, ensuring all financial information is up-to-date and accurate Monitor and manage city employees' benefits, including retirement/pension plans and HSA accounts Use Vision software to manage financial data and transactions Ensure effective customer service is delivered at all times Maintain a flexible schedule, with a mix of office and remote work.The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $135,000. Benefits available with this position include medical, dental and vision - 100% paid; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan with match and 15 days of paid vacation, 10 days of paid sick leave and 12 paid holidays per calendar year.Requirements Should have a strong grasp of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Proficiency in Budgeting and Budgeting - Forecasting is necessary. Must be knowledgeable in Certified Payroll processes. Experience in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Balance Sheet Reviews is required. Should be capable of performing Annual Financial Reporting tasks. Proficiency in Financial Reporting is essential. Must have experience in Federal Government Reporting. Leadership experience in a finance role is a must. Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Should have a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional certification such as CPA or CFA would be an advantage. Experience in using financial software and systems is required. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Strong team management and leadership skills are necessary. Must comply with all financial regulations and standards.
