Busy Optometric practice is seeking a bright, organized, detail oriented individual to work in our billing department full-time. The ideal candidate must have exceptional customer service, a positive attitude, excellent time management skills and be detail oriented. Also, a must is the ability to meet with patients in a professional and friendly manner. Candidates must be willing to help with other office duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments and checking patients in and out if needed.
Duties Include:
Verifying eligibility vision and medical insurance
Retrieving explanation of insurance benefits for payment information
Requesting adjustment on a claim
Re-billing a claim
Posting a payment
Researching specific transactions on a claim
Reporting issues and trends as it pertains to insurance payments
Providing patients with information regarding questions/concerns
Ability to communicate with payers, get claims resolved and paid accurately
Take the initiative to help assist other employees as needed
Responsible for other relevant work functions as requested
Answering phones, scheduling appointments and checking patients in/out
Skills and Knowledge of:
Medical billing/collection practices
Basic medical coding and third-party operating practices
Business office procedures
Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment
Experience in medical billing and coding is preferred, but will train the ideal candidate
