Host Housekeeper

The Housekeeper is a member of the facilities team specializing in cleaning. The Housekeeper performs daily sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, and other general cleaning. The housekeeper also performs many other cleaning and light maintenance duties around campus and may sometimes perform as a host. This full-time position is seasonal from February through approximately November 30.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, and other general cleaning.

Perform cyclic cleaning such as window cleaning, waxing floors, etc.

Clean and detail vehicle interiors and windows.

Participate in lawn care, painting, and grounds maintenance.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with all staff, guests, and Olympic National Park visitors.

Perform physical tasks such as moving equipment, supplies, and furniture.

Serve as campus host as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Competencies, and Education

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Qualifications include:

Professional experience in housekeeping is preferred.

Must be willing and able to work weekends as needed.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and consistently to high standards.

Ability to prioritize tasks in order to best utilize the hours in the day to complete all required cleaning and maintenance.

Proficient in storage and application of all equipment and products used for housekeeping duties.

Able to work well with others to include NatureBridge staff, Park Service employees, other Park Partners, program participants, and the visiting public.

Promptness and ability to work independently.

Flexible, strong customer service skills, good judgment, and safety consciousness are key qualities.

Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more).

All new hires are required to complete and pass a Department of Justice background verification.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to weather conditions outside at the time. The employee inside the kitchen is exposed to extreme heat and cold, wet and humid conditions, fire, boiling liquids, knives, moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, in a confined area with other employees. The noise level of the work environment is usually loud.

The employee must be able to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. This employee will use culinary tools and equipment along with major kitchen appliances. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
