As a Community Support Specialist, you will be working with US military veterans to develop individual plans geared towards achieving their individual goals.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have compassion and an understanding of the complex lifelong needs of persons with brain injury and the challenges they face.
Responsibilities will include:
Assisting the Warrior in acquiring, retaining and improving skills necessary to reside as independently as possible at home (e.g. household chores and organization, meal planning/prep or shopping, etc.)
Providing functional support on an individualized basis (e.g. assist with cognitive/memory strategies - reading, puzzles, cards, organizational tools; creative activities - music, art, painting)
Supporting, accompanying and transporting the Warrior to a variety of community-based resources in a variety of community-based settings (e.g. recreational activities - fishing; volunteering)
Participating in various exercise and physical activities (e.g. walking, outdoor activities)
Identifying and documenting physical, social and emotional goal directed activities
Using interpersonal and attention to detail skills
Requirements:
Previous experience in the US Military
Preferred Experience:
Working with individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and PTDS
Behavioral health and/or recreational therapy
