Pay: $18 - $26 an hour

Job Type: Full Time

Shift and Schedule: 8-hour shift

Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Full Job Description:

The plumber/mechanical installer would be responsible for layout and installing mechanical

systems for large vessels including engine installation, piping for engines, domestic water

and hydraulics and other systems as needed. The qualifications and general capabilities

listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability desired by Little Hoquiam

Shipyard.

Desired Skills – Responsibilities – Job Duties:

 High School Diploma or Equivalent

 One or more years of experience in general labor preferred.

 Previous marine experience preferred.

 Able to understand and follow verbal and written directions.

 Must be able to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines.

 Must have strong attention to detail.

 Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Must be able to work in a hot or

cold environment.

 Ability to work an 8-hour shift standing, bending, climbing and reaching.

 Flexibility to work overtime if needed.

 Must bedependable and punctual.

 Keep the work area clean and orderly.

 Follow Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.

 Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, ear

protection) as required for the task or work area.

 Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

 Consistently treats others with dignity and respect.

 Ability to layout and install mechanical equipment on large vessels.

 Carry, install and hook lengths of piping ranging from 10 to 20 feet in length.

 Strap piping on hull sides, bulkheads, stairwells, bilges and other locations on boats.

 Hookups may consist of, but are not limited to, connecting piping to engines, galley and

toilet fixtures, air conditioners, pumps, fuel systems, generators, and other systems.

 Use of hand and power tools, such as electric or battery powered drills, saws, grinders, hose

crimpers, cutters, screwdrivers and other tools as needed.

 Any other duties as assigned by management.
