We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our TLC Animal Care team. Certification is not required, but experience in a veterinary clinic setting is a necessity. This job does require working with animals (of course!), can be physical at times, and occasionally pet emergencies require a late stay. Our Veterinary Assistants and Techs assist in the exam rooms with clients and patients, help monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery and other procedures, take radiographs, draw blood, run diagnostic tests, give medications, and assist the doctors and each other in a variety of common veterinary clinic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, wrapping surgical packs, etc. All of our team members must be proficient in communication, and feel comfortable answering phones and performing reception and scheduling tasks. On the job training is not an issue, and our staff is all very supportive.
Our team serves a wide rural area. We see mostly dogs and cats, but also see the occasional exotic pet and farm animal. We provide surgical services, routine wellness, dental care, laboratory services, and hospice and end of life care. We have a well stocked in house lab, a beautiful dental suite, digital radiology (including dental), and a very nice surgical suite. Two exam rooms keep us busy but not overwhelmed, and our cloud based practice management software is very easy to work with.
We are always looking to further our diagnostic and treatment abilities in order to continually provide the best care possible for our clients and our patients. Our clients are true gems overall, and our clinic culture is fun and quirky. We work closely with Whitman County Humane Society, and our clinic has a special interest in Trap/Neuter/Release programs for feral cats. Volunteer opportunities are always available with these programs, and are a great way to get more experience in the field.
We are open Mondays through Fridays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no on call hours or weekend hours. The doors close promptly at 5 pm, and most of the time staff is out of the building by 5:15.
At TLC we work hard together. We depend on one another to be here on time every day, put in our best efforts on every shift, and work together to create a fun and supportive environment for team members and a compassionate and caring place for our clients and patients. That being said, we also play hard together. We look forward to our staff get togethers and fun "field trips" outside of work hours. If you are looking to be a part of a true team, we are are the group for you!
