Responsibilities: Impact to Strategy, Demonstrate Success, Core Responsibilities
Category Vision and Strategy: Creates, communicates, and maintains a category vision and strategy that is based on appropriate business intelligence, is following Microsoft policies, and has buy-in from stakeholders, Microsoft-wide. · Strategic Sourcing: Creates, aligns, and maintains sourcing strategies to continuously re-evaluate and improve Microsoft procurement of goods and services. · Negotiation Strategy: Develops negotiation strategies for appropriate purchasing scope. · Supplier Selection: Oversees supplier selection and performance management. Ensures alignment to Microsoft business goals, throughout. · Contracting: Understands industry contracting norms and Microsoft contracting requirements. Successfully facilitates negotiation of final contracts that achieve business goals. · Supplier Engagement: Proactively segments suppliers and utilizes engagement programs to improve performance and achieve business goals. · Continuous Improvement: always be seeking ways to streamline, automate, and simplify processes. This will include deployment of tools, proficiency in data analytics, and ability to work with IT groups to provide system requirements.
Qualifications: Category Experience: · Experience in one or more key categories including AE, Equipment (electrical / HVAC), Construction Services and/or, Operations Services · Construction Experience: Preference for experience on large-scale projects - sourcing, managing and administering contracts large dollar contracts Behaviors: · Create clarity, generate energy, and deliver success · High-integrity - must be ethical and strong value-based individual focused on fairness and maintaining confidentiality. · Have a “sense of urgency” to issue resolution. · High-performer – able to fit the Microsoft “culture” by effectively multi-tasking and managing priorities. · Always be planning for the future · Understand the importance of relationships inside the company and with our supply chain partners. · Proven experience delivering business impactful process improvement initiatives
Must Have Skills: · with 7-10 years as the desired experience. prefer candidates that have prior experience in medium/large corporate sourcing; with experience in Tech a plus
