Microsoft’s Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our MSIO Microsoft AI team.We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the MSIO OPEX(operating expense) team that partners deeply with the newly created Microsoft AI engineering group. This covers a wide range of responsibilities which includes business partnership, financial controllership, decision support, modeling and expense analysis, and the creation and ownership of efficient financial processes.

Provide support during financial close periods, and prepare recurring financial reporting, forecasts and presentations. You’ll also inform future projects by comparing financial results to the expected budget.

Answer partner questions on reporting and analysis, and contribute insights on financial plans, variance analysis, long-range planning, and more. You’ll also apply foundational aspects of Microsoft Finance to collect information, perform analysis and reporting.

Provide decision making support to engineering stakeholders to drive operating leverage through resource allocation and investment optimization by giving visibility to the current resource landscape, analyzing macro-level results, and applying systems thinking to identify and recommend levers.

Gain a deeper understanding of product development roadmaps and how changes throughout the product development lifecycle impact financial accountability.

To ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and reporting requirements, you’ll review the accuracy of financial documents and business processes. You’ll also drive correct measures and support any questions regarding documentation, policies, and requirements.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications Advanced certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult problems, combined with the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic and matrixed environment Proven presentation skills. Can easily present complex financial issues tonon-finance executives Proven interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills. Ability to drive simplicity within a complex and matrix environment Demonstrated experience in developing complex financial models, quantitative analysis and forecasting skill Proven technical skills (Excel skills, Power BI/reporting skills preferred)Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
