Lab Technician

Description:The main function of a Lab Technician Hardware 3 is to support the testing and development of computer-related equipment for datacenter applications. Responsibilities:

Execute tests on data center compute and cooling hardware.

Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs.

Build test and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.

Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.

Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.

Provide training and support to system designers and users.

Minimum 5-7years experience with VNA Measurement experience

Minimum 5-7 years experience with Hardware/Data Center Experience

Minimum 5-7 years experience with Ability to assemble hardware and solder hardware

Basic Skills:

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical and problem-solving ability.

Team player and detail oriented.

Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

Technical Skills:

Experience working with datacenter compute hardware - such as servers network switches power delivery units etc.

Experience executing and modifying scripts for compute hardware testing including scripting tools such as Python CLI SSH Redfish Postman etc.

Experience working with UNIX or Linux based operating systems.

Experience reworking computer circuit boards - i.e. soldering components onto printed circuit boards.

Experience with electronics test equipment including oscilloscopes network analyzers power supplies DVMs emulators etc.

Experience with server cooling equipment including air cooling liquid cooling and immersion cooling.

Education/Experience:

Two or four year technical degree preferred.

5-7 years of industry experience required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field.

Degrees or certifications required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role. Most of the skills are acquired through the job training if the candidate did have a technical degree in electronics would be a plus.
