Our systems are key to ensuring that code changes move quickly and efficiently from inception to release with provable high quality, at scale, across multiple endpoints, platforms, and device form factors – all while managing costs responsibly.The team is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to increase overall team throughput, efficiency and accelerate time to market of innovation while reducing costs and improving satisfaction with our Engineering System. They will do this by crafting a shared vision of a multi-horizon strategy that aligns key stakeholders and delivers business results. They will be responsible for the move from strategy to planning, execution and impact, helping manage 1P product roadmaps, cross-team risks and dependencies and lead planning and execution in a complex environment with several organization working together. Their technical experience will lead and influence the designs of our infrastructure and systems to enable our engineering and product teams to do their very best work. In addition, will take a leading role working with other leaders within OPG to build out and scale the Technical Program Manager (TPM) discipline across OPG.This is a high visibility role with focus on big transformations and large gains. Engineers, data scientists, product managers, and other disciplines in OPG and across Microsoft will be customers of your work. You’ll have the OPG Leadership Team heavily invested your success and impact. You will build connections with other Engineering Systems teams across Microsoft, and together you will work to identify, define, and adopt best practices from within the company and the industry. Support thekey leaders for ES365 to drive towards timelineswith a high-quality baracross the portfolio of tools and services.

Capture, continually communicate and drive the roadmap for ES365.

Establish key ship criteria and hold cross-team leadership accountable to ensure customer-driven quality gates are met.

Assist shiproom owner to drive a results-oriented, customer-focused forum.

Define and establish functional and technical requirements for new products and features.

Own and drive regular and conciseorg-wide and LT communications.

Clarify key stakeholders, roles and responsibilities.

Identify and drive dependencies with the Partner with User Research and User Experience Design to develop the right customer experience gates and metrics by which we will define success.

Be an integral part of scaling the Technical Program Management discipline in the Office Product Group both in size and in quality.

Drive preparation and workback schedules across multiple teams for all executive reviews.

Manage and drive the execution of demo videos with PMs to enable storytelling both for internal executive reviews.

Make sure that related planning guidance and key sites/resources (i.e. SharePoint, etc) are maintained and updated on a regular basis.

Drive requirements with our tools teams to ensure our Azure DevOps, OKRs, and other necessary tooling support effective processes and discussions.

Partner with key leadership on special projects as needed.

QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmento OR equivalent experience.

3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Resiliency, independence, and ability to navigate through ambiguous challenges.   Proven experienc working in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity. 

Proficent written skills, executive presence, and ability to be effective in communications based on relevant audiences.

Ability to change the momentum of current plans to a more beneficial course that amplifies their impact.

Ability to handle difficult executive reviews with conflicting perspectives.

Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate at all organizational levels.  

Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced environments. 

Knowledgeable in creating and managing enterprise Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

Agile and continuous improvement mindset, including familiarity with agile practices, at scale best practices and related tooling (i.e. Azure DevOps Boards for Backlogs).

Enthusiasm to establish systems and defy entropy.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
