Microsoft for Startups helps startups accelerate innovation by providing tailored offerings including access to industry-leading Artificial Intelligence services, guidance, and the essential technology needed to build a startup.This Senior Director of Marketing role offers an opportunity to drive growth and market share for Microsoft for Startups and Founders Hub. This role is designed for a marketing professional with demonstrated success leading teams through growth and transformation to achieve results. Be the voice of the startup founder and customer, driving transparency, simplicity and consistency in how we message and market to startups. 

Go-to-Market

Lead the team with different go-to-market strategies and execution plans for acquisition of startups. Partner with corporate marketing stakeholders on integrated marketing strategy to maximize reach and scale.

Partner with the program team to articulate the key value proposition, messages, brand, customer value and benefits of the Microsoft for Startups program to drive the all-up demand generation strategy acquiring new startups in key verticals and geos that align with the strategy.  

Oversee the development of the Microsoft for Startups PR and Communication strategy, working with spokespeople to develop key messages for key press moments.   

Oversee the development of a robust content strategy, executing on a customer evidence plan that does key storytelling featuring startups and the tech they use. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with the stakeholders in the startup team and more broadly at Microsoft global marketing (GDC) and comms teams to ensure initiatives align with product offerings and startup customer needs.

Lead the startup marketing team that drives brand awareness, customer acquisition and customer growth through various marketing channels (web, blog, social, paid media, etc), in partnership with corporate marketing teams.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business

OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business

OR equivalent experience.

4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business

OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business

OR equivalent experience.

6+ years people management experience.

Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
