This requires the technician to troubleshoot repair and maintain all development and production equipment and tooling as well as devise solutions for facilities issues throughout the building. The technician interacts with and assists all personnel in the building and also coordinates extensively with outside contractorsJob Duties

Promptly respond to and resolve equipment issues on the production lines to minimize delays to production.

Perform and document periodic maintenance on all equipment and tooling for development test research and manufacturing.

Design and prototype custom tools to address production needs.

Set up and optimize production areas for new products.

Write and execute validation protocols with all required documentation.

Promptly respond to and resolve all facilities issues and needs.

Identify opportunities for process improvements; implement these improvements where possible and coordinate with engineering on larger- scale improvements.

Research purchase install and program new equipment.

Interact extensively with internal personnel and external contractors in a professional and positive manner.

Identify and resolve potential safety hazards in production areas and across the facility.

Ensure maintenance of clean safe and well-organized production work areas.

Design and prototype custom tools to address production needs.

Maintain accurate records that follow Good Documentation Practices and comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality System.

Other duties as assigned.

Job QualificationsRequired:

High school diploma or equivalent; college level studies preferred.

Hands-on experience working in manufacturing, lab, or with machining equipment.

Minimum 5 yrs of experience w/High school diploma or equivalent or 4 yrs experience w/associate’s degree or 2 yrs experience w/Bachelor’s degree.

Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.):

Ability to work overtime as required.

Occasional after-hours (evening/weekend) work required.

Preferred:

Familiar with tool and machine maintenance as well as assembly concepts and production flow.

Ability to evaluate and identify fundamental manufacturing/design problems by determining root cause and then propose possible solutions.

Experience with electrical and mechanical equipment operations including general facility operations and safety.

Ability to work and maintain records according to procedures and regulations.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Ability to critically think and problem solve.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, Visio skills desirable.
