Apex is partnering with a large Video Game Enterprise to hire an Accessibility Program Manager.

This is a contract role; candidates can work remotely but availability for meetings during PST is preferable.

The gaming accessibility team is responsible for ensuring all products meet compliance standards as well as expanding the understanding of accessibility both internally and externally. The team also focuses on driving accessibility of products in the market that go beyond compliance in order to create a usable and efficient experience for all players and game creators.

Job Description:

  • Manage content updates and drive partner reviews of SharePoint sites, technical documentation, and accessibility training content
  • Review accessibility and developer documentation for accuracy and updated content
  • Gather resources, content and supporting documentation for accessibility projects including translating requirements into content
  • Generate status update mails and follow-ups, with attention to details
  • Provide daily support for managing delivery of project tasks, activities, milestones, and resources across several projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project requirements, plans, timeline, issues, risks, and challenges.
  • Maintains process documentation, supervises task distribution and scheduling of consultations
  • Responsible for creating, monitoring, and maintaining quality control of content, including HTML markup
  • Organize and facilitate accessibility focused training and education efforts


Typical task breakdown and rhythm -
  • 2 hours of planned meetings
  • 2 hours of research, managing content, inbox triage, bug tagging, reviews
  • 4 hours of heads down


Chance for flex hours or remote? - Possibility for flex hours (EST hours) but will mainly be PST hours, may work remote but have the opportunity to go into office from time to time

The gaming accessibility team are driven in the evolution of gaming and inclusivity. In this role you will be exposed to industry experts and insights that relate to accessibility. This team is extremely diverse, welcoming and collaborative

Degrees or certifications required? -
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certifications: Trusted Tester, CPACC, PCWA or accessibility user research


Disqualifiers - Lack of experience in accessibility and the disability community, Lack of knowledge of gaming and technology requisites

Best vs. average - Great personality and drive to be a part of the accessibility community. Exceeds years of experience and well adverse in the required skillset.

  • Accessibility knowledge - 2-3 years
  • Program management experience - 2-3 years
  • Gaming knowledge & experience (gaming frameworks, engines and hardware is preferred) - 2-3 years
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visual Studio ADO and HTML mark-up skills
