Description:As a Electrical Engineer you will participate in making history designing and building a Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. This will be a one of a kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from WWII and Cold War plutonium production into a state that is safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect and insure the safety of near by river systems, communities, and wildlife throughout the northwest.Additional Information

Primary engineering activities will be to provide the engineering design for HLW electrical systems and equipment for the entire facility in preparation for procurement and construction.

This work includes the use of SETROUTE, BlockDraw, and ETAP for the HLW design.

Individual must have an understanding of all engineering discipline drawings and electrical discipline wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, system calculations, 1-line and 3-line drawings, schematics, electrical equipment layout and be able to size and specify equipment and perform cable sizing calculations.

Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the database.

Experience in Electrical Engineering developing documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary, and Final Design

Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA, ANSI/IEEE, etc.).

Working knowledge of electrical equipment specification and material requisition process and developing procurement documentation in BPS

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland. Position Scope: You will be working as part of the Mechanical Handling team designing the areas of material handling equipment, treatment and vitrification systems, and/or supporting utilities. You will be preparing technical reports, studies, procurement documentation, and design documentation, performing calculations using engineering software, and supporting systems. The ideal candidate will have some experience in mechanical handling or equipment procurement. You will be interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the client in the development of the design. Role Overview: The primary role of the Mechanical Handling Engineer is to conduct and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for a global business unit usually in one discipline in a project or staff group. Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice.
