Job Description
Lifeguard
Title of immediate supervisor: Administrative Assistant
Basic job purpose: Under general supervision, ensure the safety of patrons of the Glenhaven Lakes Club Community pool/facility by appropriately watching over and scanning the pool while on duty as well as preventing and responding to emergencies.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Daily
Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in and around the Glenhaven community pool; acts immediately
and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by supervisor
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Current lifeguard certification (good through the summer)
Current First Aid card (good through the summer)
Current CPR for the professional rescuer card (good through the summer)
Reliable transportation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Skill in the application of life-guarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
Ability to pass pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the club.
Ability to document and prepare routine paperwork.
Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Ability to maintain a polite, personable attitude with and around the patrons
Willingness to learn how to safely check the pool chemical levels and add chemicals if needed
Salary
20 to 40 hours per week
$14.00 an hour
