Job Title: Explorer’s League Director (Skagit Campus)
Position Hours: 16-20 hours
Campus Report: Skagit Campus Pastor
Department Report: Bellingham Campus Children’s Pastor
DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for directing and developing our children's ministry (Explorer’s League) at our Skagit Campus, partnering with families to inspire children to develop a lifelong relationship with Jesus, helping nurture, train and teach children to love Him. This position oversees birth-5th grade. It also oversees Explorer’s League volunteers, making sure to cultivate healthy engagement amongst these volunteers. The Explorer’s League Director will be responsible for implementing the strategy of Explorer's League, while tailoring the ministry to the specific needs of the Skagit Campus.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Ensure Explorers League consistently reflects the ministry’s mission: “Helping families to help kids to find and follow Jesus”
Lead, oversee and coordinate Explorer’s League weekend services
Schedule volunteers
Ensure the current program meets the needs of children, families and volunteers
Implement changes as needed
Fill-in where needed
Implement and contribute to the Explorer’s League strategy of Cornwall Church
Recruit, lead, inspire and train volunteers to help create a safe place for children to learn about and develop a relationship with Jesus
Partner with parents/guardian/families on the journey of being a Christ follower
Reflect on curriculum needs for Skagit, and communicate adjustments to the Bellingham team
Oversee the safety and appearance of rooms, equipment and supplies
Oversee ordering supplies
Look for, and solve, safety issues
Maintain an up-to-date safety plan
Oversee appearance of Explorer’s League rooms, including storage areas
Attend meetings and trainings at Cornwall Bellingham Campus (2x a month)
Meet with Children’s Pastor (weekly), Explorer’s League Director and Explorer’s League Team at various times to pray, encourage and evaluate, as well as discuss ministry successes, concerns, volunteers, strategy, prep work, receiving supplies, etc.
Complete any and all assignments given during meetings
Attend Cornwall All-Staff (monthly), Staff Prayer (monthly), Leadership Development, trainings and team building (unless prior approval not to attend)
Be in full agreement with Cornwall Church’s mission statement and strategy
