EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Community Center Coordinator manages all aspects of the Community Meal Program, Culinary Skills Training Program, day-to-day activities, laundry/shower services, and the general facility at the Concrete Community Center (CCC). The position will provide a positive and welcoming environment to all at the CCC. The coordinator will also serve as a member of the agency’s Leadership team.
The position will be full time position at 37.5 hours per week.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
1. Manage all aspects of Community Meal Program for approx. 20-70 guests daily:
-Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious home cooked meals.
-Manage ordering and inventory effectively and within budget.
-Ensure all health/food/safety codes and requirements are being followed and are met.
-Assure all foods are cooked, held, and served safely.
-Monitor and record temperature of food before and during service of meals.
-Maintain a constant level of cleanliness and organization in all work areas and facility.
-Ensure general safety and sanitation procedures are followed.
-Met or exceed health department requirements for food service.
2. Run Culinary Skills Training Program:
-Develop and implement meaningful basic culinary skills training to prep entry level workers with a focus on food safety.
-Provide 9 weeks of specific skill training, including job skills training and testing to prepare for food safety certification.
-Coordinate with Employment & Education team to match participants with training program.
3. Schedule, coordinate, and oversee all other CCC activities and services:
-Work with participants and partners to identify and establish appropriate activities to have at the CCC.
-Oversee shower and laundry services, including sanitation.
4. Maintain organized, thorough, and timely documentation of services provided. Complete and submit daily food service and guest records.
5. Input/oversee accurate data entry for services, participants served, volunteer hours, and training hours.
6. Coordinate with the county and the agency to ensure facilities maintenance and upkeep.
7. Supervise, train, and provide adequate support to Food Service Assistant, CCC volunteers, training program participants, including evaluating staff performance and conducting routinely scheduled staff meetings and 1on1’s.
8. Maintain and manage staffing schedules and ensure adequate staffing structure and coverage.
9. Maintains a positive, service-oriented attitude at all times with the public, participants, volunteers, coworkers, and partner agencies. Interacts with participants in a respectful manner that fosters self-esteem and empowerment.
10. Create and maintain CCC standard operating procedures for all programs and activities.
11. Coordinate with supervisor and winter shelter staff seasonally regarding facilities, as needed.
12. Participate in agency, community and coalition meetings and trainings as required.
13. Other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
Education & Experience:
-HS Diploma/GED Minimum Requirement. AA or BA in Social Services or related field preferred.
-Prior food service experience required.
-Experience in teaching, training, or coaching preferred.
-Supervisory experience preferred.
-Or a combination of education/experience meeting required job qualifications.
License(s) & Certification(s):
-Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance required for work related travel.
-Food Handler’s Permit required.
-Safe Serve Manager Certification. (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
-First Aid & CPR Certified. (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
-Bloodborne Pathogen, HIPAA, & Ladder Safety Training Provided.
Skills & Abilities:
-Spanish/English bilingual or additional languages helpful, but not required.
-Leadership and supervisory skills desired.
-Strong organizational and time management skills required, with the ability to multitask
-Ability to perform accurate and timely data entry.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
-Ability to work effectively with a minimum level of supervision.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
-Must have strong and effective communication skills (oral and written).
-Ability to be an effective and positive ambassador for the agency.
-Competency of standard office procedures and equipment.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Teams and SharePoint. Database experience preferred. (EmpowOr)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Starting Pay range between $29.64 - $32.71 per hour (DOE)
