Fulltime position – 37.5 hours per week, pay is $21.23 - $22.25/hr. DOE (Additional Bilingual rate of $0.75/hr. included)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Catholic Community Services’ Farmworker Community Center provides opportunities for members of the Farmworker community to strengthen their leadership skills and offers workshops for developing advocacy skills to address the needs of the Farmworker community. Incumbent is responsible for acting as the program point person in the absence of program leadership.

Incumbent will conduct outreach in the Farmworker community, working with community members to identify the most urgent needs in the areas of health, education and housing. Incumbent is responsible for meeting one-on-one with members of the community to learn of the needs of the community and will invite members to participate in workshops/classes and other activities that will empower them to speak out on behalf of the community and effect positive changes.

MINIMUM:

-High School Diploma or GED.

-Bilingual Spanish/English with experience interpreting Spanish/English.

-Experience working with the Farmworker community.

-Commitment to serve the community through the CCS Farmworker Community Center.

-Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and compassion.

-Understanding of the Indigenous Farmworker culture.

-Ability to be flexible with changes in schedule.

-Valid WA State Divers License and valid automobile insurance.

-Applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment.

-Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

-Demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
