Edge Analytical is an environmental analytical laboratory running EPA and Standard Methods protocols, seeking a full-time, experienced Analytical Chemist in Burlington, WA. We are looking for a long term commitment.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field of study with enough chemistry coursework to satisfy EPA SWDA
Pass Initial Demonstration of Capabilities (IDC) for EPA methods related to Drinking Water
Priority given to those with drinking water chemistry lab experience
The candidate must have a strong attention to detail and have good organizational and multitasking skills for the planning and executing of daily/weekly work schedule
Be able to handle changes to schedule as priority testing arises
Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat)
Data analysis and reporting experience as well as instrument operation and maintenance
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to think critically Position responsibilities:
Prepare reagents
Sample preparations, extractions or digestions
Follow EPA and Standard Method protocols. Read and meet the requirements of these methods through following the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Sample tracking, organizing and storage
Work independently and with others within the department
Follow safety guidelines and wear required safety PPE as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Edge Analytical is team oriented and the candidate must be able to work within the team as well as be self-motivated to accomplish individual responsibilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
