Located in Spokane, Washington, Continental Contractors, Inc is a regional land development company that specializes in grading and infrastructure for single family homes, multifamily apartments, and commercial development. Continental Contractors installs underground utilities. Grade work is performed for roads, curbs, and sidewalks. Continental Contractors is a full-service general contractor for developers.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled leader to complete projects on time and to a high standard of quality. We are looking for a candidate with hands-on experience in the construction industry, a keen ability to interpret civil plans, and the leadership qualities necessary to oversee and manage projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Willingness to work alongside your team
- Advanced knowledge of the installation of underground utilities to include mainline water and sewer systems.
- Advanced knowledge of grade work to include mass grading, road grade, and grade for curb and sidewalk.
- Operate and maintain various heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other machinery.
- Read and interpret civil plans, blueprints, and project specifications with precision.
- Supervise and coordinate the construction crew's activities to ensure projects are completed successfully.
- Conduct thorough pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and team members to achieve project objectives within specified timelines.
- Provide training and mentorship to crew members, emphasizing safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company policies on all job sites.
- Monitor project progress, report any issues, and propose improvements as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, specializing in earthwork and utility projects.
- Previous leadership experience in a foreman or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and thorough understanding of safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently, make informed decisions on-site, and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as required.
- CDL preferred but not required
