This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Tacoma, Washington region. If you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, you might be right for this position. Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations

Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

The salary range for this position is $135k to $145k. Benefits available with this position include medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan with 4% match and 15 days of paid vacation, 5 days of paid sick leave and 10 paid holidays per calendar year.Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Prior work done in public accounting is desired

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

Well-founded grasp of General Accounting

Strong familiarity with forecasting

Practical knowledge of General Accounting

Forecasting & modeling experience preferred

Proven knowledge of budgeting

Experience with Inventory forecasting

Cash forecasting experience

Quality experience with month end closings

Budget forecasting experience desired

Earlier work involving year end closings

Wide ranging experience with Month-end Close Activities

General familiarity with general ledger

Good understanding of Financial Statement Audits

CPA/MBA preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
