Position DescriptionJoin Tacoma Power as Assistant Section Manager (ASM) for the Customer Energy Solutions (CES) Team! We are looking for an individual that is customer focused, collaborative, instills trust, and is able to balance the needs of a variety of diverse stakeholders.The CES team is Tacoma Power's primary customer and public interface for energy programs and services. The CES program portfolio must deliver cost-effective energy savings and capacity resources, including emerging technologies that help Power Management achieve its strategic objectives. The CES ASM directs the development and management of the customer energy programs portfolio ensuring an appropriate mix of incentive levels and effective delivery channels available to customers of every rate class. As an ambassador of the utility, the CES ASM is an active participant in regional and national energy organizations. The position works with local and state elected officials, state agencies, and environmental organizations.Responsibilities include:

Directs the development and management of Tacoma Power’s Customer Energy Solutions portfolio which includes conservation, renewable energy, peak load management, electrification of transportation, and electrification of buildings.

Using current metrics and data, actively monitors the performance of the portfolio ensuring programs add value to our customers, are cost effective, and are easy to use.

Ensures the utility meets all requirements of the Washington State Energy Independence Act, Clean Energy Transformation Act, Clean Buildings Act, Clean Fuels Program, and any applicable and relevant future energy legislation.

Regularly updates senior management, the Public Utility Board, and other key groups.

Directs cross-functional teams to evaluate research, develop pilots, and implement programs.

As a member of the Power Management Leadership Team, develops and champions the vision, mission, core values, and strategy of Tacoma Power. Is responsible for translating strategies and associated initiatives into achievable and actionable team goals.

QualificationsMinimum EducationBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management or directly related field. Minimum Experience7 years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry including 2 years as a supervisor, or manager.
