Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic who will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various systems, buildings, and programs. The ideal candidate will be able to observe mechanical devices in operation, diagnose standard mechanical equipment problems, dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. They will examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections and inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. The Diesel Mechanic will repair or replace defective parts, utilize welding and fabrication tools to alter, repair, and fabricate processing equipment. They are expected to perform the Preventative Maintenance Program established by the Company, document and report all maintenance work performed and advise of future requirements in a timely manner. They will also test and adjust equipment to meet performance specifications, maintain a clean and safe working environment, assist in shop operations in a responsive, efficient, and safe manner. Candidates must own and be able to safely use personal mechanic's tools.Hard Skills

Job TypeThis is a permanent position.Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Tacoma, Washington.Work EnvironmentThe position is located in a heavy industrial lumber yard, manufacturing telephone poles and treated lumber. Candidates must be comfortable working outside in a union operation.
